Alice Piette, Elmore’s wife, has accompanied and supported him from the beginning to his first gigs. They were for many years the Sunday “Liège visitors” of the Crossroads Café in Antwerp, when it got together the “cream of the crop” of Belgian Blues and Roots. She has perhaps met and photographed more than anybody else in Wallonie great names of the blues, as it may be seen by the Alice’s Gallery. Useless to add that her daughter, also named Alice, is one of the Walloon girls who knows best the blues history (she’s studying piano). Alice Senior is the technician of the group (not only when Elmore, on stage, is asking her to bring a bottleneck that he had lost…).
